Go Fourth & Blow Shit Up!

Yesterday was "the 4th." How ambiguous is that? What a fast-food culture that we live in that we have to shorten everything because we don't have time to say Independence Day. Nope, it's "da 4th." Much easier. Look at all that extra time I saved.

Anyway....

I sent a message to "TD" asking her what she felt about the day, considering she is both British and American. I thought it was a good question. Obviously the significance of it isn't as important as it was 232 years ago, but still. I thought it was a interesting question and I'd like her perspective, since I'm not in that position. Answer: "Don't think about it. It's just a holiday." She truly is getting the hang of being American. Apathy and Apple Pie!

Spent most of "da 4th" with Con, H/K, and her kids. It was a good time. Went to the store and picked up way too much food to eat at the fireworks display. Then headed out to the lake for show.

Only negative was the audacity and rudeness of some people. Wasn't bad, just some annoying. One guy cut into the grass where we were to park his massive truck (compensating maybe?) and almost ran over Mike. And the family next to us, high-tailed it out after the show, but left a empty case of beer and trash just sitting there. They were in a brand new Town & Country. Didn't have the room?

I took a lot of pictures, but these are some of my favorites.

Hope you had a good "4th" and blew something up. Borrowing from the Simpsons, "Nothing says 'I Love America' than blowing a small part of it up."
